一、崗位設(shè)立
學(xué)生研究助理將參與由北京大學(xué)教育學(xué)院主導(dǎo)的研究工作以及與哈佛大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)院合作的科研項(xiàng)目，依托北京大學(xué)教育學(xué)院學(xué)習(xí)科學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)室開(kāi)展研究，探究?jī)和Z(yǔ)言習(xí)得、認(rèn)知發(fā)展及腦發(fā)育的神經(jīng)基礎(chǔ)及環(huán)境因素。
研究團(tuán)隊(duì)采用跨學(xué)科、跨文化視角，著眼于發(fā)展心理學(xué)、心理語(yǔ)言學(xué)、神經(jīng)科學(xué)和早期兒童教育的學(xué)科交叉，深入探討家庭環(huán)境，尤其是親子互動(dòng)及育兒信念對(duì)兒童語(yǔ)言、執(zhí)行功能和腦神經(jīng)發(fā)展的影響，并設(shè)計(jì)和評(píng)估以家庭為基點(diǎn)的干預(yù)措施，旨在為家長(zhǎng)提供基于實(shí)證研究的育兒知識(shí)，促進(jìn)兒童的健康全面發(fā)展。研究團(tuán)隊(duì)常用的數(shù)據(jù)收集方法包括實(shí)驗(yàn)行為任務(wù)、眼動(dòng)追蹤、腦電、LENA以及對(duì)親子互動(dòng)的詳盡分析，并探討早期語(yǔ)言和認(rèn)知發(fā)展在不同社會(huì)、文化和語(yǔ)言環(huán)境中的差別，開(kāi)發(fā)基于機(jī)器學(xué)習(xí)的工具，以快捷地評(píng)估親子互動(dòng)質(zhì)量。誠(chéng)邀內(nèi)驅(qū)力強(qiáng)、注重細(xì)節(jié)、對(duì)兒童發(fā)展及家庭教育充滿熱情的本科生及研究生加入研究團(tuán)隊(duì)。候選人將嘗試運(yùn)用豐富多樣的數(shù)據(jù)集挖掘影響兒童發(fā)展的家庭因素，完整積累學(xué)術(shù)研究經(jīng)驗(yàn)。此職位尤其適合有志于申請(qǐng)國(guó)內(nèi)外相關(guān)領(lǐng)域研究生/博士，意圖豐富科研經(jīng)歷，期待在導(dǎo)師指導(dǎo)下制定個(gè)人發(fā)展策略的同學(xué)。
二、助研職責(zé)

三、助研要求
開(kāi)始日期：首選開(kāi)始日期是2023年11月，可根據(jù)情況提前或推遲。
入選資格：歡迎對(duì)家庭環(huán)境和早期發(fā)展有濃厚興趣的在京本科和研究生申請(qǐng)，學(xué)校不限。
時(shí)間投入：由于入選的研究助理將接受?chē)?yán)格、系統(tǒng)的研究訓(xùn)練，要求保證每周至少8-10小時(shí)的研究時(shí)間投入，持續(xù)至少一學(xué)年。
工作時(shí)間：數(shù)據(jù)分析可按個(gè)人節(jié)奏進(jìn)行，提供極大的靈活性。但招募被試及數(shù)據(jù)收集環(huán)節(jié)時(shí)間相對(duì)固定，在晚上或周末可能偶爾工作。
溝通能力：由于需要與哈佛大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)院和其他海外機(jī)構(gòu)合作交流，候選人必須具有出色的溝通能力，并且能熟練使用英語(yǔ)進(jìn)行學(xué)術(shù)寫(xiě)作和口頭交流。
教育背景：心理學(xué)、神經(jīng)科學(xué)、計(jì)算機(jī)、教育學(xué)、語(yǔ)言學(xué)、人類學(xué)等學(xué)科相關(guān)背景對(duì)研究工作有一定的幫助，但并非必要。我們堅(jiān)信，只要有恒心和內(nèi)驅(qū)力，就一定能掌握必要的技能。
工作地點(diǎn)：數(shù)據(jù)分析可以遠(yuǎn)程開(kāi)展，但數(shù)據(jù)收集必須現(xiàn)場(chǎng)參與，每?jī)芍芑蛎咳艿捻?xiàng)目會(huì)議或集中培訓(xùn)須親臨北京大學(xué)教育學(xué)院參加。

Research Assistant in Developmental/Educational Psychology

We are inviting applications for part-time research assistant positions to join projects centered on the influence of family environments on children's language and neurocognitive development. Operating at the nexus of developmental psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, and early childhood education, Dr. Wei's research delves into the impact of the family environment, especially caregivers' communicative input and beliefs, on the linguistic, EF, and neurocognitive development of young children. We also design and assess interventions aimed at equipping parents from varied ethnocultural and socio-economic backgrounds to bolster their children's learning and overall development. Our core data collection methodologies encompass experimental behavioral tasks, eye-tracking, EEG/ERP, LENA, and fine-grained analyses of both verbal and non-verbal communication. We also develop machine-learning-based tools to assess the quality of parent-child interactions. Adopting an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspective, we concentrate on the nuances of early language and cognitive evolution across a spectrum of societies, cultures, and languages.
We are in pursuit of self-motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented candidates with a passion for child development to contribute to our research endeavors at the Peking University Graduate School of Education and to our collaborative initiatives with Harvard Medical School. Successful candidates will acquire expertise in coding and deciphering intricate parent-child interactions and will utilize diverse, rich datasets to unearth factors influencing early childhood development. This role is ideal for those seeking to enrich their research competencies in anticipation of pursuing advanced degrees and aspiring to craft a comprehensive professional growth strategy in concert with the Principal Investigator. This role guarantees funding for a minimum of one year, with potential extensions based on performance reviews.
Duties:
Recruitment and scheduling of participants
Supporting experimental design, data analysis, and ensuring data integrity
Overseeing lab documentation and manual upkeep
Evaluating videotaped interactions between parents and children
Processing data from LENA devices, surveys, neuroimaging tasks, and behavioral evaluations
Participating in the preparation of presentations and publications as warranted
Requirements:
Startdate: Preferred start date is November 2023; however, flexibility exists for earlier or later commencement.
Eligibility: Open to Beijing-based undergraduate and graduate students with a keen interest in understanding the influence of family environments on early development. Enrollment at Peking University is not a prerequisite.
Commitment: Because RAs will receive systematic and rigorous training on data collection and analysis, a commitment of 8-10 hours per week for at least one academic year is expected.
Work Hours: Data analysis can be conducted at your own pace and we offer immense flexibility. However, occasional work during evenings or weekends might be necessary for participant recruitment events and data collection sessions. Communication: Due to collaboration requirements with Harvard Medical School and other foreign institutions, candidates must possess exemplary communication skills and be highly proficient in English.
Education: Background in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, education, linguistics, anthropology, or a related field is advantageous, though not mandatory. With commitment and perseverance, we have faith that anyone can master the required skills.
Meetings: While remote work is feasible, in-person attendance at bi- or tri-weekly project meetings or trainings is obligatory. In-person participation in data collection is obligatory.
Preferred Skills (not obligatory, but will be viewed favorably):
EEG and eye tracking research experience
Proficiency in statistical analysis
Familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python, or MATLAB.
Experience with machine learning and computer vision
Language proficiency in Bengali and Romanian
Experience caring for or interacting with young children and their parents
Compensation:
Students may choose to receive a daily wage or certificates, subject to Peking University's regulations. Research assistants making substantial intellectual contributions to the project may be eligible for co-authorship on publications and presentations.
